The ability to cross train is everything. BJJ gives your students the opportunity to learn the necessary details of grappling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu self defense.
Traditional strikers focus on kicking and open hand. These techniques are derived from various versions of Tae Kwon Do, Karate and Kung Fu. Most of the techniques are not tested in sparring, but rather in convenient drills. None of these techniques are able to effectively help your students achieve a foundation in real self-defense in a short amount of time. Additionally, learning to strike alone does not make for a complete self-defense skill set.
